Make Me Your Messenger

(Lead vocals: Ladd Bogdonoff and Tina Malia)
Ladd Bogdonoff

This song came to me when I was attending the Stillpoint Institute studying with the intuitive healer, Dr. Merdith Young Sowers in New Hampshire. I was out walking in those beautiful deciduous East coast woods during one of our breaks when a large brown moose suddenly marched out of nowhere across the field where I was standing. It startled me at first...being only 50 yards away. This surprise visitor was somewhere in size between a horse and a baby elephant! Under the circumstances, I DID NOT go up and introduce myself but watched in awe and appreciation as it unhurriedly lumbered across the field and disappeared into the woods beyond. You can look up the meaning of "Moose" in Jamie Sand's book, "Medicine Cards" to see what I was working on at the time, God sent this four legged "messenger" to get my attention! In open D tuning.

MAKE ME YOUR MESSENGER Words and music copyright 2006 by Ladd Bogdonoff www.lovesongstogod.org ASCAP All rights reserved Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger Take my soul that longs for Thee Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger That walks the earth completely free. Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger Sing through me Your sacred song Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger For this heart’s where You belong. With every breath I take, May I feel my spirit wake In everything I do Let me always think of You With every word I say May I find a gentle way To myself always be true So Your love comes shining through. Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger Hear my prayer when I call Your name Oh my Lord, Make me Your messenger That spreads Your love like a mighty flame. If I sometimes slip and fall, Let me teach what I’ve learned to all When I’m blinded by the night Help me trust my second sight Lift me up on the wings of love Like a hawk soaring high above Let me hear Your voice so clear When You whisper in my ear. Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger From the dawn to the setting sun Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger For Your work is never done. ••• Instrumental ••• Through the changes that You made I have healed in a thousand ways Now my mind is calm and still To reflect Your precious will Fill my heart with perfect peace As my fears they are released For Your love has touched my soul Now I stand before you whole. Oh my Lord, make me Your messenger For my life is Your very own May I love and serve as Your messenger Till the day You call me home Till the day You call me home Till the day You call me home… Call me home… Call me home...
